How Smartphone-Based Car Locks are Enhancing Security

Locking and unlocking cars is all set to become convenient with smartphone-based access to locking systems.  

FREMONT, CA: The automotive industry is under the impact of enormous transformation. Cars have evolved from being a means of transportation to an indispensable element of digital lives. The modernized automobile is a technology-first entity hosting capabilities like Near Field Communication, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and much more. The BLE technology can be embedded into modern tablets, smartphones, and wearables, and facilitates users to deploy their phones for interaction with any BLE-enabled device. The purpose of smartphone-driven car locking and unlocking is to enable users to use their BLE-equipped smartphones and portable devices for handling applications that revolve around vehicle diagnostics, parking, infotainment, car access, and vehicle sharing. With the industry making efforts to be greener, using low-power wireless technology to replace cables is an added advantage.
