Synology Network Storage for Efficient Surveillance

Organizations are continuously investing in better surveillance systems to provide better security. The cameras need to be strategically placed by a special team of surveillance experts. Surveillance cameras can be purchased for any facilities like office, or home, or even a monument of capital interest.

The security and surveillance of an enterprise depend upon the quality and capability of the security systems. Although the earlier systems were able to provide protection, it lagged in the security backup storage. It was a major challenge for organizations before few years. This was due to the lack of enough storage capacity to maintain records for any length of time, storage limitations, and transfer speeds that required the use of low-resolution cameras; interruptions in the transfer resulted in crucial footage being lost. Video surveillance has dramatically changed in all the backup storage challenges in recent decades. Open, IP-based network technology has replaced the closed, proprietary world that long dominated the security industry providing the storage for continuous high-speed video and audio transfer.

Surveillance Station 8.1 app is a web-based application that can manage IP cameras to provide security. The surveillance systems are turned into intelligent surveillance solutions by integrating the Synology Network Attached Storage (NAS) IP surveillance solution with its Surveillance Station 8.1 app. Synology provides solutions to problems such as overwriting, lost footage, or poor quality video in the surveillance market. , Surveillance Station’s link aggregation technology increases the bandwidth of Synology NAS. It maintains traffic in the network connection ensuring the video quality. Synology’s Surveillance Station its Centralized Management System (CMS) is used in business applications for continuous recording and proactive control, designed for multi-site and multi-server surveillance deployments. Synology CMS is a decentralized concept in which a PC is now used only to view and control the camera.

The features and specifications are to be noted while opting a surveillance camera. Options such as smart search and recordings for specific actions must be present. The cost of the system also needs to be noted. Cost-efficiency is one of Synology Surveillance Station’s competitive edges since Synology’s core value is storage technology. Network-attached storage devices are in need due to their versatility. They are suitable to meet different storage requirements. Synology is one such storage solution which provides excellent features at under $1000 and can meet the demands of small and medium-sized companies.
