In a world where changing global demands outstrip what can be done by current food and agricultural systems, creativity is a must.
FREMONT, CA: It is estimated that the world population will grow to 9 billion by 2050, which means they need to increase global food production by 70% to prevent massive famine, as stated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. At the same time, the agricultural industry is facing rising costs of production, labor shortages, inefficiencies in land management, food waste, and disconnected customers demanding accountability with regard to the source of their food. Worldwide, Agtech startups are designing innovative solutions to tackle these challenges. In this post, five agtech startups are showcasing creative solutions for feeding.
